La luz es una forma de energía que deja un rastro, una huella indeleble sobre un material sensible, que es la fotografía. Lo curioso es que, algunas afortunadas veces, la simple visión de esa huella puede llegar a tener un efecto sobre las personas tan potente como una verdadera forma de energía. Una fotografía puede provocar rabia, ira, amor, excitación, tristeza, llanto, esperanza. La imagen fotográfica no tiene una verdadera energía acumulada, pero sí un enorme potencial para provocar un nuevo desarrollo energético. Y es ahí donde reside el valor artístico de una fotografía. Una potente imagen puede incluso tener un efecto perdurable en el tiempo: son aquellas fotografías que vimos una vez y que siempre vuelven a la memoria. Su luz volvió a volar desde el papel fotográfico, para atravesar nuestra retina y quedar grabada en nuestra memoria, de forma perdurable. Y a partir de ese momento, cada vez que sea invocada, volverá a provocarnos. De por vida.

Light is a form of energy that leaves a trace, an indelible mark on a sensitive material, which is photography. The funny thing is that, sometimes fortunately, the simple vision of that footprint can have an effect on people as powerful as a true form of energy. A photograph can cause anger, anger, love, excitement, sadness, crying, hope. The photographic image does not have a true accumulated energy, but it does have enormous potential to cause a new energy development. And that is where the artistic value of a photograph resides. A powerful image can even have an enduring effect in time: they are those photographs that we saw once and that always return to memory. Its light flew again from the photographic paper, to cross our retina and remain engraved in our memory, in an enduring way. And from that moment, every time it is invoked, it will provoke us again. Forever.
